My Journey to a New Home: Finding My Perfect Place in Ahmedabad

For over 35 years, Gujarat has been my home. But recently, the call to settle down and build a permanent future grew stronger. This meant finding a city that offered a comfortable life for my family and me, with the right balance of professional and personal needs.

Setting the Criteria

My ideal city needed to cater to both my professional and personal aspirations. From a professional standpoint, convenient air connectivity was crucial. On the personal side, I sought a larger city with excellent educational facilities, healthcare options, and entertainment avenues. Safety was paramount, considering my family would often be alone for extended periods.

The Contenders: Ahmedabad, Pune, and Jodhpur

After much research, three cities emerged as potential contenders: Pune, Ahmedabad, and Jodhpur. While Pune offered a vibrant atmosphere, Jodhpur's limited flight options quickly took it off the table. Ahmedabad, however, held a special appeal.

Ahmedabad: The Perfect Fit

Ahmedabad ticked all the boxes. It offered a sense of familiarity being in Gujarat, with the added benefit of proximity to our relatives in Rajasthan. The city's security record was another major draw. Ultimately, a well-located apartment in Motera sealed the deal.

Motera: A Haven in the Making

Motera's unique charm lies in its strategic location. Situated north of Ahmedabad city, it boasts easy access to the Gandhinagar highway and the calming presence of the Sabarmati river. The absence of industrial zones ensures a clean environment, while schools, medical facilities, and markets are all conveniently close by. It's also not an overly posh area, allowing for a comfortable lifestyle without breaking the bank.

The icing on the cake? Motera sits right beside the upcoming GIFT City project, promising exciting residential and institutional developments. This, coupled with its distance from Ahmedabad's bustling centre, makes Motera a haven for those seeking a peaceful and pollution-free life.

Gujarat: A Land of Rich Heritage and Progress

My journey to finding a new home in Gujarat was an eye-opener. Here are some fascinating facts I discovered about this incredible state:
  • Gujarat boasts the highest vegetarian population in India.
  • Over 98% of its villages have access to electricity.
  • Gujarat's economic prowess is undeniable, with the country's wealthiest man and a significant portion of the stock market wealth originating from there.
  • The majestic Asiatic lion finds its only home outside Africa in the Gir Forest National Park of Gujarat.
  • Ahmedabad holds the distinction of being the safest Tier-I or Tier-II city in India and ranks highly in real estate affordability.
Looking Forward

I'm confident I made the right decision. Motera, with its blend of serenity and upcoming developments, seems like the perfect place to raise a family. This entire process has not only given me a wonderful new home but also a newfound appreciation for the rich tapestry that is Gujarat.
