The World Is My Office: Reflections of a Seasoned Traveler

This morning, a wave of wanderlust washed over me as I updated my travel plans. It wasn't just about booking flights home – it was a chance to reflect on the incredible journey I've been on. Here's a glimpse into what unfolded:

  • 149 Flights and Counting: By the time I return home in March 2011, I'll have soared through the skies on a staggering 149 flights! From the thrill of takeoff to the breathtaking views from above, each flight has been a part of this extraordinary adventure.

  • 18 Countries Explored: My passport has become a colourful tapestry of stamps, each one a memory from a unique land. From the vibrant markets of India to the majestic peaks of Nepal, I've explored the diverse cultures and landscapes of 18 incredible countries – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Dominican Republic, Germany, Haiti, Indonesia, Malaysia, and more!

  • 26 Airlines Conquered: My travels have taken me on journeys with a wide range of airlines. From established giants like Air India and British Airways to regional carriers like Merpati and SMAC, I've experienced the unique service styles of 26 different airlines.

  • 71 International Adventures: The world has truly been my office, with 71 international flights taking me across continents and oceans. Each leg of this journey has broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of the global community.

  • 249,975 Air Kilometers Traveled: The sheer distance covered is mind-boggling – a staggering 249,975 air kilometres! This number represents not just miles traveled, but experiences collected, connections made, and a world map that's come alive.

"I. Love. This. Job. Oooh-rah!" These words perfectly capture the essence of my experience. Being an aid worker isn't just a job; it's a privilege, an adventure, and a constant source of inspiration.
